Cold winter walks in the city leave little frenchie paws in need of TLC. Thankfully, we swooped up FuzzYard Naturals’ Shea Butter + Avocado Oil Paw Balm at Trixie + Peanut when we were in NYC, because it is just the trick to soothe and condition dry / cracked paws. The company is known for their premium pet products held to the highest of human standards, and this paw balm, formulated with organic extracts and no synthetic additives is no exception. It’s not greasy, but just in case, I did blot Tallulah’s paws with a tissue after massaging it into them to avoid any transfer. Best of all…the balm is safe for your pup to lick, because you know they will!

Talk about dancing Sugar Plums in our pup’s head..Snook’s Sweet Potato Dog Chews were a great find recently at Plaza de Paws in Burlingame. It is literally a hemp rope with organic dried sweet potatoes strung on it- pure, simple, and organic..awesome! It didn’t last too long, but does give the benefit of giving your dog a healthy treat while keeping them occupied (at least for a little bit). Never liked them as a kid, but I’ll say it now..”More sweet potatoes, please!”

The holidays always seem to put us in the mood to bake…which is kind of a big deal considering the most regular action our kitchen sees the rest of the year is the shaking of a dirty martini. But it just wouldn’t be December without the smell of cookies, cakes or brownies wafting through the apartment, or a kitchen warmed by the oven hard at work.
Anything non-chocolate will usually find its way into a morsel that ‘accidentally’ falls for Tallulah, so when I saw these Puppy Cake baking mixes in Banana Cake and Peanut Butter (with frosting mix included!) I was psyched. PuppySnob holiday baking! Just add an egg, oil and water, then mix and bake or microwave. They have adorable bone shaped cake pans on their site, but trust us when we say…whatever shape you bake them in, they won’t last long!

We absolutely adore Jesse Freidin & his work! He caught our eye with the Doggie Gaga Project last year & since we’re both in San Francisco, we’ve had the pleasure of meeting up with him and were even lucky enough to get to see him in action. Jesse photographed Tallulah for a series he was doing for The Impossible Project, and was able to capture her quirky personality with such ease. Can someone say dog-photography-whisperer?! I was absolutely blown away by the 3 final images & in my favorite of the trio (pictured above), love her pensive, almost stoic, expression.
Adding a Freidin original is most appropriate at any time of the year, but there’s no time like the present! Speaking of presents…a session with Freidin would be a fantastic holiday gift for anyone on your list smitten with his or her pup. Act fast! If you schedule a 2012 session before 12/15, save $500 on prints.
